Always Faithful
“Many a man claims to have unfailing love, but a faithful man who can find?” Proverbs 20:6 “I have this against you, you have left your first love.” Revelation 2:4
Our world has been turned upside-down in these past six months. Many of us are now separated from our church, our family, and even our workplace.
I believe these are the days in which Christ followers are needed to shine in the increasing darkness that is trying to invade every heart and every home. How can Christ followers shine in dark places and lift up Jesus in the midst of a pandemic and the social unrest, violence and looting in our cities?
I believe the answer is found in Proverbs 20:6! Choose today to continue to be a faithful man or woman of God. The goal of all the winds of darkness that blow across our nation is to distract Christ followers from being faithful (24-7) in following Jesus. Refuse to become distracted by what you see and hear through our media.
The promise of Jesus is still true, “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these thing will be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33. Our faithfulness is demonstrated by our outward actions & choices but begins in our heart & is found in our personal time with Jesus.
Jesus spoke to the church at Ephesus in Revelation 2 these very thoughts; your actions are right, but your heart is no longer following Jesus. I am suggesting that the Ephesus church, those Christ followers, got distracted. They started to drift, their time with God began to grow less, and they were no longer “Always Faithful.”
I am asking each of you to get alone with Jesus and repent for yourself and all of us for our lack of faithfulness in following Jesus. Then ask Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit to help you and me be “Always Faithful.”
