Points from the Pastor's Pen
“Faith comes by hearing the word of God.” Romans 10:17
So! What do we believe about God? When did you decide it was time to start seeking God? How did you learn that everyone needs God? Do you really believe there is an unseen world filled with angels and demons? Have you ever asked:
The answer to these and a host of other important questions are found in the world’s best selling book that we call the Bible. The Bible consists of 66 books written over 2,000 years by 40 different people, from 3 different continents, who gave us God’s words in 3 different languages, and has no errors or contradictions.
However! The contradiction with the Bible is this. In spite of being the world’s best seller, and being the very word of God (in which He gives us the best instructions in how to live a life that makes a difference) most Americans have no idea what the Bible really teaches because they do not read or listen to the Bible on a regular basis.
This means: They have no faith based system from which to make daily decisions and choices.
This means: Although they think they know what God desires, in reality they have no clue.
This means: Most of our daily decisions are based on our own faulty thinking.
When you choose to daily, read, hear, study, and/or memorize the Bible you will begin to know what God thinks and desires and your daily choices will begin to change for the better. This is because the One who made you (God) wrote the instruction manual we call the Bible.
So my challenge to you is this!
Go online and in your search engine type Bible Reading plans. Find a Bible reading plan that works for you. Make the decision to daily read and listen to the Bible. As you read, listen, and study the Bible your faith in Jesus will begin to grow and you will begin to have a faith based system from which to make the best choices.
